A Palestinian woman and an NBC News team were reportedly attacked by masked Israeli settlers in the Israeli-occupied West Bank on Saturday, during escalating tensions in the region.
The attack occurred when four members of the NBC News team were interviewing Aida Ahmed Abdullah and her family in the Palestinian town of Jalud, near Nablus. Abdullah said settlers had driven her family from their home, and the team was walking down a hill toward the house when a car with Israeli license plates reversed up the hill toward them.
At least four masked men leapt from the vehicle, hitting the team with sticks and throwing rocks. NBC News correspondent Matt Bradley was hit twice in the arm and treated at a nearby clinic. Abdullah, 51, was taken for medical care by the Red Crescent. Three other members of the news team were also injured and treated. Israeli security forces said they had received reports of violent clashes and had removed rioters from a Palestinian home in the area.
