At least 11 people were killed in a mass shooting at a house in the KwaMakhutha township near Durban, South Africa, according to police.
Gunmen stormed a house late on Tuesday and opened fire on 14 people, with ten killed at the scene and four taken to hospital, where one later died from their injuries, police said. One of the victims is believed to be a pregnant woman. Police said some of the victims were on their watch in connection with illegal activities, which they could not divulge at the moment to protect ongoing investigations.
The police said that information available at this stage suggests that 13 men and one woman were reportedly having a party inside a house when three men arrived and opened fire on them. The woman is among those who died. A local TV reporter said the gunmen had set fire to a vehicle belonging to one of the victims before fleeing.
