<p>Four Palestinians and an Israeli were killed in a shooting in the Israeli-occupied West Bank on Friday morning, according to health officials, in one of the deadliest incidents in the territory over the past year.</p>
<p>The Palestinian Authority's health ministry reported four deaths and four injuries, including three in critical condition, while Israel's national emergency service said one person in their 30s was killed and two others were wounded, with one in serious condition and one in moderate condition.</p>
<p>The circumstances remain unclear, with conflicting accounts from Israeli and Palestinian officials.</p>
<p>The Israeli military said soldiers were sent to the Palestinian village of Tell, near Nablus, after reports of an attack on Israeli hikers. It described the attackers as terrorists who opened fire after stealing a weapon from a security officer, and later said the attacker was killed.</p>
<p>The mayor of Tell offered a different account, stating that settlers attacked the village and that the violence began with verbal exchanges and escalated to a physical clash before gunfire was exchanged, with no information indicating that village residents opened fire on Israelis that morning.</p>
