<p>A London court heard that the singer Chris Brown pleaded guilty to a charge of affray, related to an incident at a nightclub in which he was accused of hitting a music producer with a tequila bottle. The plea comes three years after the confrontation at Tape London in February 2023.</p>
<p>Brown, 37, entered the plea alongside his vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, 40, who was involved in the attack. Akinlolu also pleaded guilty to affray at the same hearing. Brown had faced a more serious charge of attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm, with a trial previously scheduled for October. Affray carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison.</p>
<p>Prosecutors described a confrontation on the dance floor during which Brown allegedly struck Abraham Diaw, a music producer, twice with a glass bottle. Akinlolu is said to have joined in by punching Diaw, with the assault resulting in head and knee injuries and Diaw requiring hospitalization.</p>
<p>Following the incident, police issued warrants for Brown and Akinlolu, who had left Britain. Brown later returned for a 2025 Manchester concert and was arrested. He previously denied the charges in June 2025 and posted bail of 5 million pounds, enabling travel outside the country during his world tour.</p>
<p>Brown appeared at Southwark Crown Court dressed in a tan suit and a St. Louis Cardinals cap, with supporters outside the courthouse. The two defendants are scheduled for sentencing in October.</p>
