Zuma's party will refuse to attend the opening of South Africa's parliament.

The official results of the recent national elections have sparked controversy and allegations of vote-rigging from supporters of Jacob Zuma's new political party, uMkhonto weSizwe (M.K.). Despite winning a significant share of the vote, Zuma and his supporters claim a much larger victory, enough to change the constitution and pursue their proposed initiatives. The party's application to prevent the opening of the parliamentary session was rejected by the nation's top court, further fueling their grievances. M.K.'s unexpected electoral success has disrupted the African National Congress (A.N.C.), and the party has refused to form an alliance with the A.N.C. under President Cyril Ramaphosa. The party's message resonates with communities facing economic disparities, and its members are actively engaging in community support initiatives. Despite their grievances, some members recognize the importance of participating in Parliament to drive change.
