Sudan's army has been accused of launching drone strikes that killed more than 300 people, including mourners and market-goers in Abyei and West Kordofan states.

A truck carrying mourners to a funeral and a market alleged to be supplying fuel to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) were targeted in separate drone strikes. Ameth Bek Hospital in Abyei has been treating the wounded from Monday's attack on the market.

The Sudan War Observatory reported 150 deaths in West Kordofan on Sunday and 153 in Abyei on Monday. South Sudan has summoned Sudan's ambassador over the attacks, which have raised tensions over the disputed oil-rich region of Abyei. The conflict, which began in 2023, has displaced more than 14 million people and created a severe humanitarian crisis.
