Tate Museums Face Challenges as Director Announces Departure


Maria Balshaw, the director of the British museum group encompassing Tate Modern and Tate Britain, has announced her decision to step down from her position in the spring of next year.

Balshaw has served in this role for nine years, during which time she has overseen significant developments and initiatives within the institutions.

The announcement marks the end of her tenure, during which she has been influential in shaping the direction and public engagement of the Tate galleries.
