Tess Johnston, Diplomat and Advocate for the Preservation of Historic Shanghai, Passes Away at 93


A former diplomat who served in various American consulates globally has established her residence in Shanghai, often referred to as China's "Paris of the East."

In her time there, she has focused on documenting the city's disappearing colonial architecture, highlighting the cultural and historical significance of these structures.

Her work aims to raise awareness about the preservation of this architectural heritage amidst rapid urban development.
