Pope, in Christmas Message, Laments Loss of Life in Israel-Hamas War


Pope Francis, in his Christmas address, expressed deep concern over the loss of civilian lives and the sorrow brought to Bethlehem by the violence in Israel and war in Gaza. He called for the release of Israeli hostages and an end to the devastating military attacks. Speaking from St. Peter’s Basilica, he also urged for peace in other conflict areas like Armenia, Azerbaijan, Sudan, and Ukraine. The Pope's message emphasized the need for peace in Israel and Palestine, particularly for the Christian communities in Gaza and the entire Holy Land.
